Sounds typical: Parents should contact the doctor if their child is wheezing. Wheezing is a noise a person makes when exhaling (breathing out). The noise is due to obstruction to the air flowing out of the lungs. Wheezing can be a serious problem. If a baby or toddler get bronchiolitis from RSV or other viruses, or gets wheezing for some other reason... watch for recurrent wheezing, which would be called asthma.

Evaluation: A virtual consultation from Healthtap may provide additional information for your and your physician. Recurrent wheezing with colds is one form of asthma and a management plan may include starting Albuterol. A flu vaccination is recommended unless otherwise contraindicated.
