U can try: It may work, if not, go back to omperazole. Please let your prescribing doctor know of this medicine change, in case the dr has a reason for you not to do this.

Possibly: These meds can give the same result- although they work differently in the body to relieve symptoms of acid reflux. Omeprazole is more likely to last the full 24hrs- and ranitidine is usually twice a day. There is a once a day dosing that can be prescribed. It may be less expensive to use the ranitidine- so it is worth trying.
