If omeprazole is not recommended for long term use, what would you suggest as a suitable alternative? ranitidine has been tried and did not work.

Long term use?: The question is why? and at what dose? I recommend using Nexium (esomeprazole) or Zegerid however, you must understand that the over the counter medications are usually 1/2 strength of the prescription dose.
