Insomnia: Nope. The body would take over and you would pass out. This situation is common when one is trying to detox from sleeping medications or alcohol or other substances. Learning how to sleep again is a prolonged process but possible.

Insomnia: It is unlikely that a person will die from insomnia but you do need help understanding what is causing your insomnia and how to go about resolving the issue as it can be debilitating. Consult your doctor and if medical issues are ruled out consult a mental health professional. My best.

Recent reports +/-: There have been recent reports of death from sleep deprivation but this is likely only half the truth because typically it is not possible to naturally avoid sleep without the use of stimulants. It is these stimulants which are more likely the cause of death, .
