Melatonin, like other sleeping pills, eventually results in tolerance and less efficacy. Medications are never a permanent solution for insomnia, especially associated with emotional distress. Heed recommendation for "sleep hygiene" program and stop all sleeping pills. Recommend consideration of cognitive-behavioral therapy program for anxiety and depression.
