Mildly: Hyperventilate, and you'll drop your ionized calcium (it's your body adjusting to keep you healthy) and change your ekg. The only danger to life is if you already have something badly wrong such as coronary artery atherosclerosis, or if you get worked up with invasive testing by an overzealous physician. Hope you're able to get the hyperventilation under control -- be brave & good luck.

No: It is not possible to hyperventilate to death. It is possible to hyperventilate to the point of passing out. In victorian england (ireland too?), young women would hyperventilate and "swoon"- the medical term for this was that they suffered from "vapors". (british spelling: vapours).Don't worry - people have been hyperventilating since the beginning of time. Try re-breathing into a paper bag!
