Yoga: Along with treatments for your anxiety problems (talk therapy, possible meds if needed, etc) you can add yoga with an experienced teacher. Yoga helps you attend to your body, and there are also breathing exercises with it as well. In time you can re-train your breathing patterns -- but not without concomitant treatment for the basic anxiety problem you have.

Hard but achievable!: Although chronic hvs is difficult to correctly diagnose and treat, stress reduction therapy, administration of beta blockers, ssris, benzodizepines and breathing retraining have all proved effective in reducing the intensity and the frequency of episodes of hyperventilation. Acupuncture and yoga have also been shown to reduce stress and thus the frequency of hvs.
