A member asked:

Help please! is celexa comparable to lexapro (escitalopram) ?

Not quite: Celexa and Lexapro are similar. Their generic names are citalopram and escitalopram. The only way to determine which would be better for you is to try each. Talk to your physician.

Yes- very similiar: Citalopram (Celexa) and escitalopram (Lexapro) are sister drugs both made by Forest Industries. Celexa is a racemic mixture & was the original product. Lexapro cleaved the mixture so you are left with the half with almost no side effects.
