Just went from celexa to lexapro (escitalopram). celexa wasn't doing much for me before. will lexapro (escitalopram) be any different?

It can be: Lexapro (escitalopram) and Celexa are not identical. If Celexa is placed in water, it breaks down into two mirror image compounds labeled left and right handed. Lexapro (escitalopram) is the left handed one. Alone, without the interference of the right- handed one it has much more of an antianxiety effect and a different profile in depression compared to celexa. I have had quite a number of patients who did poorly on Celexa and went on to do very well on lexapro (escitalopram). Best wishes.

Only the: Medication trial will tell. Often you might not have an optimum response from one selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor but respond very well to another medication in that class. Celexa and Lexapro (escitalopram) are very similiary. Celexa is a racemic mix ; Lexapro (escitalopram) has the active part of the medication cleaved from the part of the med that causes side effects. May be it will work for you ; may be it won't.
