Hard to say: May be a cavity, a bite problem, or a non-vital nerve. Make an appointment with a local dentist to find out.

When?: In this forum it is difficult to determine precisely as to why you have single tooth pain. Keep notes as to what causes the pain, which tooth it is upper, lower, left, right(look in a mirror), duration of pain and what may relieve or stop the pain. Is it sensitive to hot, cold, touch, biting? Then see your dentist who will exam & x-ray and determine a treatment for you.
