Perfectly Normal: As your teeth are starting to move, the bone starts to remodel and when pressure is placed on the bone, it hurts. You'll need to eat soft foods and possibly take pain medication to get you through the first few weeks. After that you should be fine. In the end, you'll have a terrific smile and you will realize that it was worth it !

Tooth soreness: It's common for the teeth to be sore when you have braces. Each time they are adjusted, there is a little soreness, especially with biting a chewing. Gradually they move into place and feel better. Hope that helps!

Depends: Orthodontists are trying to straighten your teeth. During this process your gums will be sore. Depending on what stages your teeth are in this process it could be a few weeks. I remember it was not very comfortable. Take Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen and see your Orthodontist with your questions. Good luck
