Yes but …: The longer you can go without smoking the better and more quickly the site will heal. Now would be a excellent time to try and quit. The danger of beginning to smoke soon after and extraction can be the loss of the blood clot that forms in the extraction socket. A "dry socket" can be very slow to heal and very painful. After two days or so, most clots are stable enough to withstand light smoking.

READ before u smoke: As a health care professional i would suggest you not smoke at all but there should be no ill effects from your surgery, unless you have diabetes and in that case your healing is generally delayed and you should get clearance from your dentist/surgeon before resuming your normal smoking routine.
