Any exercise: Where you burn off more calories than you take in will be successful for weight loss. I don't have enough information on you to tell you if 1300 calories/day is the correct level or not. If you're 5 feet 5 inches tall, the 1300 calories would probably allow 1/2 pound/week weight loss. Less weight loss if you're shorter; more if taller. More with more exercise. Check w/a good registered dietitian.
