Cholecystectomy: What's the reason for gallbladder removal? If you don't have stones in your gallbladder and your gallbladder function on hida scan is good, i would strongly recommend not to rush to have it removed. If you have stones or it's not functioning well and you're having pain, vomiting, heartburn, indigestion, then it can be considered. Usually a safe surgery, but no 100% guarantee - things happen!

Stop meds: Before surgery . During gallbladder surgery there may be some bleeding where the gallbladder sits against the liver but that usually stops before surgeon leaves the operating room.
