Right axis deviation: Electrocardiographic right axis deviation which is increasing over time associated with an ASD can indicate right ventricular dilation. If the ECG is a one point in time measurement, then its reliabiltiy as a predictor of right heart enlargement is less. Discuss with your doctor. Measuring shunt with echo is an easy way to evaluate the ASD. Sometimes a TEE is needed.
