"shot bumps?": This is a problem with the medicine sequestered in a very tight lesion. It is very hard to get a cortisone shot to expand the hypertrophic scar enough to stay in the lesion. Often, the type of cortisone shot is a depot form of cortisone, and that medicine can stay in the scarf for several weeks. I believe it should go down but you should show this to your doctor for assessment.

Hypertrophic Scars: It may take a few weeks to see the final result from injecting a hypertrophic scar with cortisone. Sometimes not all of the scar responds uniformly to the treatment and secondary steroid injections may be indicated.
