Exp. calf soreness & tightness in the morning and at rest. been told ankle sprain can be the cause. had grade 2 sprain 1 yr ago. pt doesnt help. mri shows scarring. cortisone shot is scheduled for next month. is this necessary w/ current symptoms?

If I understand correctly you have a history of a bad sprain to your ankle. However you are experiencing muscle soreness and tightness to the calf muscle. First off a Cortizone injection to the ankle joint will not help this problem. It sounds the ankle joint is not the problem. You need to stretch and strengthen the calf muscle. A Physical Therapist can instruct you and help you with this
