Cannot diagnose: Without seeing these MRI images, having access to prior medical records and seeing and examining you there is no way to assess this. You should go back and communicate effectively with your doctor. Ask your spouse or a friend to go with you and insist on getting all questions answered in a meaningful fashion. Good luck.

NOT so clear: The diagnosis of MS is based on changes in lesions or symptoms over time and space. A spinal tap is NOT a be all and end all, and your new lesions could be due to MS, but also to other conditions, and you need to have this tracked down. Would strongly urge a second opinion from a medical school MS clinic. Other considerations include vasculitis/arteritis, Lyme disease, lupus, anti-phospholipid.
