Depends: It will depend on the type of broken toe you have. There are some fractures that will need to avoid weight bearing and those typically will need crutches.

No: No but a post-op shoe would be advisable. This is a straight lasted shoe that does not bend and allow to toe to bend allowing for primary bone healing where bone heals directly into bone. If the toe bends a lot during healing process you could sustain a pseudarthrosis or fibrous cleft between the fracture ends which will cause pain and require surgical correction.6 weeks.

Only first toe.: Because only the big toe is required for balance and thus walking. Crutches would be unnecessary for fractures of any of the other digits.
