Possible fracture.: If your foot is hurting you, you need to see a podiatrist and you need to get xrays to rule out a fracture. If it is a fracture, it needs to be imobileized

Darn, that hurts.: It is difficult to imagine anyone stubbing their toe, especially really hard, and not having some immediate pain, swelling and bruising. It is not as easy to fracture the great toe as it is the lesser toes. You need to apply ice, to stop the swelling and pain. Elevation will assist in pain also. Crutches are optional and a personal choice to aid in mobility.
