Help someone daily: I firmly believe that one of the best ways to help self-esteem is to make sure that not a day in your life passes that you do not reach out to say something kind to someone else or help someone else. I think if you start there you willl find your self-esteem will start to lift. Also make sure that you are very centered in your spirituality. Volunteering to help. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help as can most forms of psychotherapy. If you are in a depression please get professional help from a psychiatrist or your family practitioner if medication is necessary. Include a healthy dose of laughter in your life daily. Learn the joy of laughing at yourself as you learn to not take yourself so seriously. Also do something every day to make yourself feel better.

Boosting self esteem: Self-esteem comes from five different areas of our lives. How we view our role in our family, our success in school or work, whether we are viewed as a vital part of a social network, our body image and, lastly, the positive versus negative thoughts that we have about ourselves each day. Boosting self-esteem means taking action to improve one or several of these areas of our lives.

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as self esteem issues, which are common is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.
