Depends: The answer really depends on the patient, and how the patient views their own self esteem as related to what they feel are their physical "deficiencies." for example, some women may feel their breast are too small, and if they get a breast augmentation, their self esteem may be boosted. Others may feel they have a sagging chin, etc. Don't forget, beauty is only skin deep. Best wishes.

Breast augmentation.: This has been the top cosmetic operation for all but one of the past several years (liposuction beat it out by a slim margin the year before last, but this past year breast implants again regained "first place.") but what really does the best is dealing with the area that concerns each individual the most, regardless of "popularity.".

All types: All types of plastic surgery are intended to enhance self-esteem, self-image and self-cofidence when performed in the right candidate for the right reasons. A surgery itself does cannot achieve this without the surgeon evaluating the reasons of the patient who must have realistic expectations. As stated, breast augmentation is the most popular procedure followed by liposuction and rhinoplasty.

Popular: Currently, breast augmentation and liposuction are the most popular aesthetic surgical procedures in the us for women. Personally, i think the "mommy makeover" - with the combination of breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and a little liposuction around the waist - gives the greatest boost to self-esteem, but that's just my opinion.
