Self esteem: Comes from doing things you're proud of and not distorting or denigrating your accomplishments, abilities and basic human worth. If you haven't done anything you think is worthwhile, then do something. If you think negatively and distort or denigrate your accomplishments, abilities or basic worth as a human being, a mental health professional can help you learn to change that.

Start Small: Start small. I often tell patients who are struggling with self-esteem issues that, "you need a win." That means finding some small but achievable task that you can focus on and build off of. For longer term solutions to self-esteem problems consider talking with a therapist who can help you explore and address the root causes of your self-esteem issues.
