Generally, yes: I am assuming that some doctor ordered the MRI but radiologists specialize in reading them. Normally, even if the md you saw was able to see something on the mri, a radiologist would still read & interpret the findings for completeness. Often, smaller hospitals send tests out to specialist they cannot support themselves to allow them to provide the service (your mri) locally & save moving you.
