Though muffled, i can still hear with the ear that has perforation. does hearing worsen the perforation? is it a good or bad sign?

No: Hearing doesn't worsen a perforation. If it is a perforation that just happened, in most cases it will heal on its own and as it does the hearing will slowly improve. Keep the ear dry except for any drops you may have been prescribed. Good luck.
