Depends: Several factors can play a role in your healing process. If you were taking Aspirin or nsaids, they may thin your blood and cause some more "bleeding under the skin." if you iced it immediately, it can help reduce the swelling/bleeding initially. Most hematomas (black and blue marks/contusions) will heal in 5-7 days. Rarely, you can get a "goose egg" bump that stays and may need surgical evac.

Hematoma: You probably have a hematoma (collection of blood under the skin) caused by the trauma. It will gradually dissipate over 2-3 weeks depending on the size of the injury.
