Acid reflux : The recommended duration of therapy is about 2 months for gerd / esophagitis. For maximal results some need 2x daily dosing w/ 1st dose taken 30 min before first meal and 2nd dose 2 hrs after last meal. Upper endoscopy may be indicated to rule out ulcer, h. Pylori, hiatal hernia & other potential causes. Don't forger about dietary modification.Starting an h2 blocker as you taper may be hellpful.
