GERD: Medications to treat acid reflux include proton pump inhibitors, such as prilosec, prevacid, aciphex, nexium, protonix, dexilant (dexlansoprazole). There are also h2-receptor blockers available over the counter such as zantac, pepcid, tagamet. Other options include tums, gaviscon, mylanta, milk of magnesia.
