Chronic bronchitis, a form of copd, is treated w/meds to control sxs including bronchodilator inhalers, steroid inhalers, etc. Smoking cessation is also necessary to stop the etiology of the airway inflammation.A doctor can help w/smoking cessation and treatments.

Yes: Most cases of acute bronchitis are viral and require no treatment, with spontaneous recovery being the rule. If you smoke i would strongly suggest stopping, or if you are working in contaminated air wear protective breathing apparatus, or if allergic, get desensitized. This is rarely bacterial (unless chronic bronchitis) and should not be treated with antibiotics without a good reason.
