Causes: Bronchitis may be from infection, inhaling particulate matter (dust, powder, etc. Both seem to be inflammation but asthma is a chronic condition whereas bronchitis - except for chronic bronchitis linked to copd- is usually short-term. Chronic bronchitis usually caused by smoking is a different case altogether. Good luck.

Indeed: Although both conditions involve inflammation in the airways, asthma is associated with airway constriction often related to allergy. People with asthma often have wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing. Chronic bronchitis is usually associated with tobacco smoking (not allergy) and the symptoms consist mainly of a wet cough (phlegm production).
