A member asked:

I was pressing the triangular cartilage part of my nose tip with my fingernails to try and make it look sharper, now my nose seems longer. would this have any lasting affect?

Shouldn't: You likely have caused some swelling in the area that will soon resolve (unless you continue to traumatize it).

Tell the truth: Or your nose will continue to get longer.

No: Other than the first 3 months of life, it is unlikely that you can alter the cartilage shape other then those changes that occur with age (calcification, hardening, loss of support).
