A member asked:

My one year old was playing with her ball and feel and hit her mouth..now her lip is busted...how should i treat it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Go to M.D.: It is hard to know what busted means, but usually the lip is lacerated and bleeds and swells. Immediately put pressure on the lip to stop bleeding. If there is a laceration, it should be evaluated by a physician. The edema of the lip will take days to resolve. Hopefully no baby teeth were injured. Your pediatrician should examine your one year old.
