Go to M.D.: It is hard to know what busted means, but usually the lip is lacerated and bleeds and swells. Immediately put pressure on the lip to stop bleeding. If there is a laceration, it should be evaluated by a physician. The edema of the lip will take days to resolve. Hopefully no baby teeth were injured. Your pediatrician should examine your one year old.

Last night my one year old hit his face on my hard wood floor. He was showing signs of a head injury and I took him to the er. They told me to watch him for the next 12 hours. Now today he was acting a little normal but was fussy, and was playing normal.
