Not uncommon: It is early yet & would follow up with ur surgeon. It also depends on what was done. Simple removing of the nail with no reconstruction such as nail bed removal and shortening of the toe and then the pad brought up over the end of the nail &sutured to the skin above the nail bed is a larger procedure. Both would be painful @ this stage. B sure to follow ur surgeon's plan of care.

Not at all: Salt causes burning on an open wound. You should be fine.....You could soak with the bandage on if burning is an issue...
