Diarrhea : If you mean he has diarrhea (tummy running) and he was put on antibiotics for his tonsillitis then it is possible the diarrhea is from the antibiotics. Probiotics (lactobacillus supplement or yogurt with active cultures) has been shown to decrease antibiotic associated diarrhea. Don't take the probiotic near the antibiotic or the antibiotic will kill the probiotic and that would not help.

Viral infection: Dr goore's answer is correct.But the diarrhea may be due the fact that the whole package is a viral illness including throat and intetinal infection. These run there course and heal naturally in up to a week.
