Not serious: Simple liver cysts are benign and very common.

No problem: Many persons have simple cysts in the liver or kidneys. They are benign. Make sure they are described as simple, or just the word cyst, and not described as complex cysts, which may require further workup or follow up. Only when there are so many cysts that normal organ function is disrupted is there a problem (polycystic kidney/liver disease).
