I read that 1 mg of lorazapam is equal to 10 mgs of valuim is this true/if so then given 2 mgs of lorazapam seems like a huge dose or dangerous dose.

Pretty big, yes: Dose-equivalence isn't an exact thing, but i agree that 1mg Lorazepam is about equal to 10mg diazepam (valium). A person new to these meds would find 2mg very strong. Taken regularly, people build tolerance: a given dose seems weaker, and they tolerate more. But there is withdrawal risk as well. None of these doses are dangerous though, unless mixed with other meds or alcohol (or if driving!).
