I have beeen taking 2.5 mg of valium for 2 yrs (as needed usually 2 to 3 times a day i was sent lorazepam to switch to/no schedule of how to transition, dosage being being .25 ml every 6 hr how soon can i transition if im not on valium to lorazepam?

You should call the doctor who is prescribing the lorazepam to determine how to make the switch. You may be able to simply stop taking the Valium and take lorazepam for the next dose. It is important that you don’t take both medications-after you take lorazepam, do not take any more Valium doses. But, call your doctor to be certain that you transition to lorazepam without difficulty. Good luck!
