8-10 hours: However, combining the two medications can cause excessive drowsiness. 10 mg of Valium is a high dose. The longer you stay on the medications of benzodiazepine category the more difficult it becomes to get off them. These medicines are a good quick fix but a more curative medication like escitalopram that yo are taking are more helpful in the longer run.
