Fruits & diabetes: The main thing people worry about with fruit for diabetics, is the sugar content. I agree with dr. Sparacino that you can have most any type of fruit, but the very sweet ones like banana, pineapple, papaya, mango, etc should be treated more like dessert -- sparingly. Fruits with high fiber -- like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc -- are tasty & the sugar absorption is slower. Enjoy!

Strawberries: and cantaloupe are very good choices for people with diabetes because they are very low in carbs. They are very sweet, but you can eat a fairly large portion without having too many carbs. Work with a dietician to learn more about which fruits are best.
