Insulin, nateglanide: Most medications for diabetes do more to help sugars before eating rather than afterwards. Januvia (sitagliptin) helps sugars after eating, but it is not very strong. Nateglanide is another, also not very strong. Rapid acting Insulin (novolog, humalog, apidra) will be the most effective, but needs to be injected. Of course, eating fewer carbs or concentrated sweets will also help.
