Isometrics: After a surgery, or conditions where your doc recommends non weight bearing, keeping muscles and joints fit is important. Doing range of motion of any joint not in a cast can be done in a chair or on your back. As well, you can do isometric sets, where you use opposing muscles against each other. Google will help you there.

Ask your doctor!: A leg fracture is a serious injury. You need to seek medical attention from an orthopedic surgeon. He or she will advise you regarding what exercises you can do. Having said that, the most important strengthening you can do is core strengthening. That is non weight bearing and can be done safely while recovering from your injury. Heal well.
