No: Lots of sugar decays teeth and causes obesity and poor nutrition . Diabetes later in life is more genetic in nature. It is not connected to diet.

High sugar: A high sugar diet would not directly cause diabetes type ii - but the resultant obesity can resulted in an american epidemic of early diabetes type ii. It is always better to eat a more balanced diet low on saturated fats and processed sugars.
