Not a ton: If you have had cold sores in the past you have the herpes simplex virus already so probably not a concern. If not, it could be unpleasant. You can see if your primary doctor can give you an antiviral like Valtrex (valacyclovir) or similar preemptively (start asap if so) though i haven't heard of this being given.
