Get help: There is not a simple solution to overcoming ocd. Find a therapist who specializes in ocd and start working on overcoming the symptoms. You may want to consult with a psychiatrist about medication if the ocd is severe. Behavioral techniques can be helpful in combination with insight oriented work. Good luck, but it will take time, don't be discouraged.

No: Exposure and response treatment has repeatedly been shown to be less than ideal, and sometimes harmful in patients in OCD. In regards to CBT in OCD, there is a more updated modality available based on substituting with a less intrussive compulsion, and a focus on anxiety reduction. OCD is very much a neurologically-driven phenomenon. For now, its treatment, not cure.
