Not A Pill In Sight: Obsessive-compulsive disorder responds very well to a specific behavioral treatment. Some patients even experience complete remission of their symptoms. Best to receive your treatment from a licensed psychotherapist who is familiar with ocd. Many good books about this treatment are available: "stop obsessing" by edna foa, and "brain lock" by jeffrey schwartz. Both can be found at local bookstores.

Yes: It is possible to do so, but often omitting medication makes the task more difficult. Usually the emotional impetus behind OCD is anger and/or fear. Psychotherapy with OCD patients tends to focus on these emotions, primarily, but not exclusively.
