Treatment works: Anxiety treatments can be very effective and there are many options. However most require you to do something . Coping skills and strategies are helpful. There are behavioral , cognitive, medical, and experiential treatments that have research based plus probably many other approachs that are probably effective. Talk to your doctor or do own research. Start.

Start with a medical: Eval. It may uncover underlying medical problems that need to be addressed. Seeing a therapist cognitive behavioral therapy can be quite effective. Psych meds may be indicated. Aim for daily exercise, 8 hours of sleep per night & good nutrition w 5 servings of veggies & 4 of fruit per day. Try tai chi, yoga, qi gong, progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing exercises & meditation. Take care.

See below: Talk to you physician to see if there's a physical basis for anxiety. Practice relaxation, meditation, guided imagery (you can google it); keep a diary of the events when you happen to be anxious -- what happened (the event), thoughts you had; things you've done to decrease anxiety; how you body responded (where did it feel in your body). Set up a routine, to make your environment more predictable.
