Function and pain: It's hard question to answer given no much information provided. If the sprain was mild and you've achieved pain free status with restored function, then you should be gradually starting to return to your pre-injury activities. Normally, 7 weeks would be enough time to recover in an uncomplicated ankle sprain, but you gotta be pain free and able to function enough to return back to playing.
