Root Canal: You should contact the dentist or endodontist that is treating your tooth. Sometimes patients experience sensitivity in the tooth after the anesthetic wears off. I suspect keeping your mouth open for an extended period of time might also give a headache possibly TMJ related. This is speculation so please see your dentist regarding these symptoms and rule out need for antibiotic.

Not typical: No this is not typical. The reason why you are having pain on the opposite side from the root canal may be because your mouth was open for a long time during the dental procedure. Now the muscles and jaw are stressed out. If this is the cause ibuprophen, ice and soft diet will help. Call the dentist who did the root canal and find out exqctlynwhatnis going on.

Possibly: My colleague gave good advice on the opposite side pain. As far as the root canal treated tooth, pain after treatment is possible, due to extensive work on a tooth that was already painful. In a few days pain will subside. If not see your dentist.
