Sounds like cavity: It sounds like you have a cavity with some irritation. Hopefully you will only need a filling and not a root canal. Only your dentist will be able to tell you if you need a root canal after they do an exam. Please see a dentist as soon as possible.

Probably a Cavity: Although it appears small on the outside, once past the enamel, the decay can quickly spread into the dentin. Only an examination of the tooth and possibly excavation of the decay can tell you if you need root canal therapy. Get treatment soon.

Tooth decay: Your dentist will remove the black dot and replace the hole in your tooth with a tooth-colored filling. If not treated, eventually, the tooth may need root canal treatment. See a dentist.
