HARD TO SAY: MOST LIKELY SOME INFLAMMATION IN YOUR GUMS IS CAUSING THE SYMPTOMS. PERHAPS THERE IS A MILD INFECTION BUT GENERALLY THE ROOT CANAL TAKES CARE OF THAT. PERHAPS IRRITATION FROM DRAINAGE FOLLOWING ROOT CANAL. WHOEVER DID THE ROOT CANAL WOULD BE THE BEST TO ASK.

Surgery: You had surgery. Both the tooth and the surrounding gum tissue required manipulation. Then a temporary crown was placed on the tooth, and that can be a bit irritating to surrounding gum tissues. The soreness should lessen every day, as should the oozing. Call your Dentist and see if he/she feels you should be reevaluated now rather than in 2 weeks.

Gingivitis: The bleeding is probably from gum irritation possibly secondary to the rubber dam that was used during the root canals. Root canals usually do not bleed after they are completed. Soreness is normal for up to several weeks.

Perfectly Normal: It's not uncommon to have mild tenderness following root canal therapy (RCT) - especially while waiting to have the tooth crowned. Some people even have "phantom pain" - pain for the nerve that is removed in the RCT. The filling you have is temporary so some bleeding on floss is normal as well. If it worsens, you can call either the dentist that did the RCT or your general dentist to check it.
